This is a good start for a great action role-playing game. Don’t you guys want to start making games now? Or if you’re not into games, just make a movie and upload.
Leave a link here if you made one, I’d love to see it.
This is an RPG that imitates Diablo but not using DnD rules and it’s a bit weird when whacking robots with a morningstar.
Nothing addictive in this game but there’s a lot of room for improvement like somebody could make a decent RPG from this game.
Now, go and whack some robots!
aptitude install freedroidrpg

pcsx is apparently the only Play Station emulator available packaged on Debian Lenny.
To install it, as root
aptitude install pcsx
You can also play it only with PS CD image provided with the right setting. Built in BIOS is provided but you need to find PS BIOS elsewhere to get most game working.
How can that be possible? Easy, with a live DVD (download its image and burn to a ), everyone can. Just set your BIOS to boot from your DVD drive as first priority, pop the DVD, reboot and play.
OpenArena and World of Padman are included in this live DVD.
Also included:
Most of those games I had never review before but you can find more about them >> http://live.linux-gamers.net/?s=games
Happy gaming
Have you tried Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory? It’s so great that Quake Wars were made based on its gameplay. Check out
There’s two team to choose; Allied and Axis and each team have 5 different class such as soldier, medic, engineer, field ops and covert ops. Each have their own special set of weapon and importance to every map in order to win a round. With each killed enemy, revived or healed team member, you’ll get a certain amount of experience that will rise you from private to a higher ranking soldier and class bonuses.
There are bots for this game but I suggest ADSL internet connection or better for online multiplayer.

No, it’s not related to Starship Troopers.
I simply loves the exploding efect in this game. Try watching the video from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-jChWwxDLY

Go get it from http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tt_e.html
It should also available on most recent GNU/Linux distros such as Debian Lenny. try searching for the package torus-trooper.
Free software projects need volunteers to make it better. Especially its games. One that I can think of is Quake2World which isn’t released yet due to the lack of helping hands. Watch its video first and you’ll know how promising it is.
Many things you can contribute to the project like maintaining its codes, graphics, audio and stuff. In return, you can have your name on the games credits section. It’s a kind of a portfolio too you know.
There’s so many game related free software projects that you can find and contribute at http://directory.fsf.org/category/games/
I’m just playing with words. Let me introduce World of Padman, another FPS made with Quake 3 engine like no other. Its cartoon-ish feel and look may fool you. Those bots are tough! Have a look.
It’s a Free Software, so just download it and have fun. This one you still cannot play with your little brother and sister despite its colorful appearance. If you watched the video, you’ll know what I mean.
